Ahhhh, the mundane. Harvey Pekar knows it well. I suppose that's why I can relate. Luckily for the both of us, we have our outlets. He has American Splendor, just as I have... Um... This site...? Damn. Okay, Pekar wins that one. I just saw his flick American Splendor last night with a roommate, and was highly amused and influenced. His attitude, his life, and the people in it are all unusually relateable. One person in particular, Tobey, Harvey's coworker and self-proclaimed nerd is hilarious, especially when you realize it's all based on reality! Pekar is a schlep to the highest degree, but the kind of schlep that we all aspire to be. I haven't read all of his stuff yet, but be sure that I'll get to it once I get my hands on it.
