How Google Saved My Life (Or At Least My Bank Account)
An 866 toll free number has been calling me nonstop lately, asking for a "Joffree Ohkai." I continually white lied that such a person was not there at the moment. Yet their persistence paid off as I picked up today finally and they immediately went into their pitch without asking if I was present or not. This particular "company" claims to offer $200 in gasoline vouchers for only $3.95 in shipping of the vouchers. Obviously, there's a major catch. They then began to ask for my checking account information. This set me off, and I grilled them about what the name of the company was. CPI, Continuity Partners Incorporation was his reply. Being at my computer at the time (when am I not at my computer?) I typed their name in to Google to see what their deal was. And, not to much surprise, a long list with words such as "fraud" and "scam" in the title of the topics filled the screen. Needless to say, I hung up the phone. Just a warning for you folks out there.
I'm still dead. But at least I'm not broke. Well, at least, not on the account of someone stealing my funds illegally. Thanks Google!
